Our Country is on Crack!

So, here we are on the precipice of a major crash.  I am so glad that I get to go through one of these....not!  Like many people who had parents who gave good, sage advice such as, "stay out of debt" and "live within your means" and "Nothing good comes easy", it is no surprise to see where we are after more than 10 years of over indulgence in our personal lives, enabled by the policy and lending practice of these institutions.

Now, I don't blame all the individuals themselves.  Sure, it was bad judgement to buy that $250,000 house on a $45,000 salary.  Or the new $30,000 car to replace their two year old $25,000 car they got $5,000 for on the trade in.  But, hey, who cares when you get these things for "monthly payments" that amazingly work in to your budget--though not really, but who's keepin track?  So, while I don't completely blame the individuals, they do have a role to play as the unsuspecting victim.  Actually, that's giving them too much leniency.  They knew in the back of their minds this wasn't going to work down the road, but they abandoned all common sense and ignored that little voice on their shoulder all for that need to gratify and possess things.  It's like a drug.  And our fellow citizens are the addicts.  So, like any addicts, there can't be a problem without those drug dealers.  That's who I give 90% of the blame.  The dealers and their sources.  A drug dealer knows the drugs he sells isn't going to be healthy to his customers.  But he knows they WILL come back for more.  It's an addiction.  This is the network that Walmart, Circuit City, every furniture store and car dealership, and most mortgage lenders have created.

So, how do we get all of our addict citizens off lifestyle crack?  Well, that's where you come in.

What is your theory of how we wean our good citizens off this drug addiction so we can be a more stable country.  Can it be done?  How effective will this bail out bill be?  What will life be like in the next 30 days?
